Heartstart

 

Heartstart UK Schools Programme is an initiative co-ordinated by a partnership between NEELB, NHSCT and the British Heart Foundation to provide an opportunity for children to learn simple emergency life support (ELS) skills.



The programme focuses on the ELS skills needed in a life-threatening emergency and is designed to provide pupils with maximum time for hands-on practice with resuscitation training manikins.  The programme is designed to train staff as instructors in Emergency Life Support and backed up with relevant teaching resources and resuscitation manikins. 


 
Mr Radcliffe is the trained instructor for Harpur's Hill Primary School and throughout the course of the year children from Primary 7 will be trained on the following:
