A Busy and Brilliant Term in Primary 5

28th Nov 2025

Primary 5 has shown great enthusiasm for the new experiences they have participated in since starting Key Stage 2.

In Numeracy, we have enjoyed the challenge of problem solving and opportunities to collaborate and work with others to reach a solution.  We have also loved engaging in friendly competition with our peers, through mental maths games, boosting our confidence with numbers and making connections.

Our fabulous reading skills and involvement in Accelerated Reader have helped transport us to new and exciting places through a variety of stories and books.  In Literacy, we have been writing imaginary postcards from the Maldives, using our best descriptive writing to create wanted posters for the mischievous Jack Frost and performing playscripts in front of our class.

This term we have focused on keeping safe, with a visit from the Fire Service and lessons that have helped us to consider rail and road safety. Young Enterprise also helped us to learn about the features that made up a city and how they are planned and zoned.

We are now looking forward to the festive period, enjoying practising Christmas songs and getting creative with art and crafts.
