Today, we brewed up creativity in our shared writing session by creating our very own class potion — children took turns suggesting eerie ingredients, building vocabulary, sentence structure, and sequencing skills.
Across the classroom, rich play opportunities supported all areas of learning: from imaginative role-play in The Rotting Pumpkin Restaurant and designing Halloween crowns, to fine motor development with spooky playdough and mark making in sand. Our digital area challenged problem-solving with Halloween-themed puzzles, while our CVC word hunt encouraged early reading and phonics skills. Duplo construction of haunted mansions sparked teamwork and design thinking.
