Eco-Council
Eco Council
Our Eco Council is made up of pupils who help our school look after the environment. They meet regularly to share ideas, plan eco-friendly actions, and support our school’s work toward being more sustainable.
What the Eco Council Do:
-
Encourage everyone to recycle, reduce waste, and make eco-friendly choices.
-
Help save energy in the school by promoting good habits such as turning off lights and reducing water use.
-
Look after the school grounds, including gardens and outdoor spaces.
-
Teach others how to care for the environment and act sustainably.
-
Lead eco-initiatives across the school and in the community to help everyone make positive, long-lasting environmental choices.
Eco-Schools aims to educate and empower young people to make positive decisions and become change-makers for a sustainable world. It encourages environmental awareness and action, embedding these values into everyday school life. Everyone has a role to play - pupils, teachers, non-teaching staff, parents, the local authority, local businesses and even the media.
Eco-Schools also helps extend learning beyond the classroom, encouraging responsible attitudes at home and in the wider community. We proudly fly our Eco-Flag, renewed every few years, to show our commitment to a greener future. Our most recent Eco-Flag was awarded in 2023.
