HeartStart

Over the past seven weeks P7 have been learning first aid through the HeartStart Programme. They have been learning all about what to do in certain emergency situations and are being test on everything they have learnt this week. All the best P7!!!

St Patrick Event
10-14th March 2014
This week all of our classes in school have had the opportunity to visit St Patrick's Church in Coleraine. We learnt all about St Patrick's life and about the church. We even got to see and touch a real snake. A big thank-you too everyone at St Patrick's church for making our visit so enjoyable.

Christmas Carol Concert

Thank you to all the family and friends that came along to our Carol Concert. We really enjoyed singing, reading, performing and learning more about the real reason for the season. A huge thank-you also to Mrs Hazlett and Mrs Smith for all the hard work that they put in and the help they gave us to make our Carol Concert a huge success.

M&M Productions visit Harpur's Hill

M&M productions visited us this afternoon and showed us their latest production - Sleeping Beauty. It was fantastic! We really enjoyed singing along to all of their songs.

European Week for Waste Reduction.
18th - 22nd November 2013
We are always busy finding ways to reduce waste in Harpurs Hill. We are making Christmas decorations, robots and completing other art projects this week, using recycled materials. We had a special Assembly and we used the “Recycle City” website to learn more about reducing, reusing and recycling.
Some of us have also investigated the “Recycle Zone” online. One class completed 4 missions on the BBC Key Stage 1 Eco-friendly site. They discovered that if we all have respect for the environment, the world will be a much better place to live in!
What do we normally do in Harpurs Hill ?-
We recycle paper and plastic in our classrooms. We also use the clothes bank outside school. We have a compost bin and the compost supplies our vegetable garden with healthy vitamins and nutrients. Our caretaker gives the Council all our fallen leaves, to be recycled as well.

Children in Need - Pyjama Day
15th November 2013
Today the students and staff at Harpurs Hill Primary School wore their pyjamas to school to raise money for Children in Need. Thanks to the support we were able to raise £216 toward this charity. Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to school council for suggesting this super idea!

The Dairy Council Visit P5 and P6
7th November 2013
The dairy council visited us today to teach us all about how to have a balanced lifestyle. We learnt what food we should eat and what activities we should do to stay healthy. We also even got to play a game, dance and learn a new rap!!
Once Upon A Time

Primary 4 have been looking at the topic of 'Once upon a time'. As part of their topic they dressed up as characters from their favourite books and designed houses for fairytale characters. Take a look at some of their magical houses and excellent costumes.

Streetwise Visit Harpur's Hill

Today we had the opportunity to watch a fantastic streetwise production. We learnt so much about how to stay safe when out in the car, on our bike, or walking around our community.
